Stockton To Speak At Bulldog Luncheon
Two-time Olympic men’s basketball gold medalist and Gonzaga University alum John Stockton will speak at the Bulldog Club’s noon luncheon Sept. 18 at the Crescent Court Ballroom, 707 W. Main.
Stockton, a member of the original Dream Team, which captured the gold in 1992, and a returnee at the ‘96 Games in Atlanta, has begun preparations for his 13th NBA season with the Utah Jazz.
The 1984 Gonzaga University graduate and West Coast Conference Player of the Year is the all-time NBA leader in assists (11,310) and steals (2,365). His streak of 527 consecutive games started is the top active streak in the NBA and fourth all-time. He is 20 appearances shy of 1,000 games, having played in 980 of a possible 984 games in his career. He missed all four of those games during the 1989-90 campaign. He is also 1,750 points away from 15,000 career points.
The luncheon is open to the public, but reservations are mandatory. To make reservations, contact Gayle Clayton in the Bulldog Club office, (509) 328-4220, ext. 4204, no later than Sept. 13. No reservations will be accepted after that date. Tickets will not be available at the door. Luncheon cost is $15.
