Leaf It To Arboretum Finch Will Be Site Of Autumn Fest Intended For Fun, Education
The Finch Arboretum in west Spokane is hosting its annual Fall Leaf Festival this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than a dozen displays and activities are planned.
Children are invited to jump in a gigantic pile of leaves, decorate a pumpkin, create crafts or shake the paw of park mascot Marty Marmot.
Adults can talk with master gardeners and park staff about proper fall plant care, especially roses.
Native plants will be displayed.
Exotic cats will be shown by the Cat Tales wildlife park.
Organizations involved Saturday include the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Corbin Art Center, Sierra Club, Native Plant Society, Camp Fire Girls and Boys, and International Society of Arboriculture.
