Billie Lane Sandpoint
Service for Billie I. Lane, 49, will be held today at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Interment will follow at Seneacquoteen Cemetery near Sandpoint.
Mr. Lane, who was born in Sandpoint, died Wednesday.
He lived in Spokane and returned to Sandpoint in 1958, graduating from Sandpoint High School.
He served with the Navy during the Vietnam conflict and received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Lane later drove a gravel truck for Payton Schell and also was a logging truck driver.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Lane of Kootenai, Idaho; mother, Erma Milliken of Sandpoint; sister, Joyce Cutting of Oregon; and an aunt, Fern Coatney of Oregon.
Lewis Cummings Kellogg
Resurrection Mass for Lewis A. Cummings, 80, will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cummings, who was born in Chinook, Mont., died Thursday.
He moved to North Idaho in 1942 during World War II and worked for Bunker Hill Co. as a miner, retiring in 1977 as a main line engineer.
He was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and the Bunker 20-Year Club.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Opal; two sons, Ronald Cummings of Chelan, Wash., and Albert Cummins of Kellogg; six daughters, Martha Conger of Coeur d’Alene, Nancy Heinig of Moses Lake, Sandra Beighley of Kellogg, Lola Potts of Post Falls, Cathy La Fantasie of Colorado and Mary Marshall of Cataldo; brother, Alton Cummings of Kellogg; sister, Leola Ciekle of Bayview; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
