Man Shot After Threats At Bonneville Dam

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man was shot by an FBI agent Sunday evening after making threats at the Bonneville Dam, police said.

The FBI offices in Portland and Seattle had no immediate comment.

A bomb threat apparently was left on an answering machine earlier Sunday at the visitor center on the Washington side of the dam, said Diana Brimhall, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers spokeswoman.

She said a man later showed up at the dam with a weapon. He was shot by the FBI agent and taken to a hospital by helicopter.

Brimhall said she had no other details. But she said she had no indication from people working at the dam that they knew the man.

She says police officers from both Washington and Oregon were involved in the confrontation.
