Stadium Worker Dies

Compiled From Wire Services

A construction worker was electrocuted at the site of the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks new baseball stadium when a crane struck a low-hanging electrical wire, transmitting 7,200 volts into a metal box in which he was standing.

Daniel Weber, 35, of suburban Mesa, Ariz., was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Medical Center shortly after the 2 p.m. It was the first death to result from a series of mishaps at the team’s future home.
