Montana Teacher Shot To Death

Associated Press

Clifford Lee Nelson, a popular, longtime middle school teacher, was shot to death in his mobile home early Monday morning, apparently by an intruder no one saw.

Neighbors said they heard two shotgun blasts between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. but saw no one.

Someone later fired two shotgun blasts through the window of the secretary’s office at Seeley Swan High School. Missoula County Sheriff’s Capt. Jerry Crego said evidence found at Nelson’s home and at the school indicate the shootings are connected.

“Someone definitely went there to shoot him,” Crego said.
