Man Arrested After Shooting
A Spokane man is facing an assault charge in connection with a North Side shooting Sunday night.
Charles E. Jackson, 24, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. after officers were summoned to the 800 block of East Decatur.
The 19-year-old victim, who suffered a minor gunshot wound, was taken to an area hospital. Police refused to name the victim or the hospital.
Witnesses gave police a description of the gunman, and officers stopped a taxi in the 2000 block of East Fourth Avenue with Jackson inside. He was arrested without incident.
A weapon was found in bushes near Morton and Nevada, police said.
The shooting is being investigated. A motive hasn’t been established.
