Parents Charged With Trying To Sell Babies

Compiled From Wire Services

The parents of twin 4-day-old boys were charged Thursday with trying to sell the newborns for $25,000 to undercover police, authorities said.

The day after the boys were born, police said their parents put word out that they were for sale.

Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies, acting on a tip, arranged for the couple to take a $2,000 deposit for the twins outside a grocery store, authorities said.

Jeffrey Eugene May, 30, and Christine Marie Love, 24, were charged with two counts of sale of a minor child, a felony carrying a maximum prison term of five years on conviction. Bond was set at $50,000 each.

The state gave custody of the boys to Love’s mother, Lynda Dinsmore.
