Buchanan Plans Stops In Idaho On Monday

From Staff And Wire Reports

Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan will visit Boise, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls on Monday - the day before Idaho’s primary election and presidential preference vote.

Bob Dole already has clinched the Republican nomination, but conservative groups hope Buchanan’s visit will help promote measures they want to put on Idaho’s November ballot.

“Pat Buchanan has been instrumental in keeping conservative issues in the Republican platform,” said Kelly Johannsen, executive director of the Idaho Citizens Alliance. “If it were not for Pat Buchanan, we would not have the stance we do in the Republican Party concerning abortion, special rights for homosexuals and education reform.”

Spokesman John Condit said Buchanan will attend a Memorial Day service in Boise on Monday morning, followed by a rally in the Twin Falls City Park in the afternoon and an evening radio show in Idaho Falls.
