Pomeroy District Reports Closed Roads
The Tucannon Road in the Umatilla National Forests’s flood-ravaged Pomeroy Ranger District was reopened last week after temporary repairs were made to washed-out sections.
However, rangers still report numerous headaches for hikers, campers, anglers and hunters in the aftermath of downed trees, wash-outs and landslides. The district’s list of closures and predicted opening’s follows.

North Touchet River Road 64 toward Ski Bluewood closed to public. No opening date set.
Road 4620, Patrick Grade, closed. No opening date set.
Roads 41 and 44, Lick Creek and Smoothing Iron, re-opened April 1.
Sheep Creek Road 4712, closed. No opening date set.
Campgrounds
Meadow Creek, Tucannon and Panjab campgrounds experienced heavy damage, but should be open by Memorial Day.
Panjab Trailhead is open, but trails remain closed.
Trails
Wenaha Trail 3106 between Troy, Ore., and Cooked Creek is impassable and will not open soon.
Wenaha Trail from Cooked Creek to Fairview bar suffers from numerous downed trees and washouts. The area between milepost 7 and milepost 12 are open, and rangers hope to have up to milepost 15 open by Memorial Day. However, hikers won’t be able to go past Butte Creek. The bridge is out.
Three Forks Trail 3133 to Crooked Creek is open; Crooked Creek Trail 3100 from Three Forks to the Wenaha River is open, and between Three Forks and Second Creek is open. Three Forks and Second Creek will be the only access to the Lower Wenaha River this season.
