Jane Adams Spokane

No service will be held for Jane Adams, at her request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Miss Adams, 59, died Wednesday. She was born in Wallace.

She was a longtime Spokane resident and retired as office manager from Johnson-Lieber Inc., in 1992 after 35 years.

She is survived her stepmother, Virginia Adams of Prosser, Wash.; three stepbrothers, Bruce Lansing of Prosser, and Ray and Lyle Lansing, both of Spokane.

James Rae Seattle

Memorial service for James K. Rae, 31, is planned for 4 p.m. Monday at Spokane Civic Theatre.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Rae died April 25 in Seattle.

He graduated in 1983 from Rogers High School, where he was active in a barbershop quartet, Shivesen jazz choir, symphonic choir and drama club. He was on the annual staff, was Key Club treasurer, senior class treasurer, and sophomore and junior associated student body representative.

For several years he performed in plays at the Civic Theatre and had performed in Pirates of Penzance with Gonzaga University.

Mr. Rae attended Minneapolis Children’s Theatre and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

He moved to Seattle in 1989 and worked for the King County Library Systems.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Rae of Spokane; his father, William Rae Jr. of Spokane; one brother, William Rae III, and one sister, Bonnie Wood, both of Spokane.

Frank Krones Davenport, Wash.

Memorial service for Frank J. Krones, 78, is set for 2 p.m. today at Eatonville (Wash.) Methodist Church. Burial of the urn will be in the national cemetery currently under construction in Western Washington.

Mr. Krones, a longtime Davenport resident, died Sunday. He was born near Eatonville.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in December 1939 and during World War II, served as a bomber pilot in the South Pacific. After the war he was a commander of a maintenance squadron. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1959.

After retirement he graduated from Washington State University with a teaching degree in math. He taught at Davenport High School and was appointed superintendent of schools.

After he retired from teaching he worked at the Davenport Senior Center and delivered The SpokesmanReview in Davenport.

His wife of 48 years, Vivian (Rhodes) Krones, died in 1993.

Mr. Krones is survived by one son, Donald Krones of Davenport; one daughter, Janet Giles of Portsmouth, Ohio; three sisters, Nettie Nelson of Coeur d’Alene, Grace Kneip of Eatonville and Bertha Sharpe of Coos Bay, Ore.; one brother, Earl Krones of Eatonville; one granddaughter and several stepgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Davenport Senior Center.

Samuel Homberg Odessa, Wash.

Service for Samuel Homberg, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage United Congregational Church in Odessa. Burial will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa, is in charge of arrangements.

Born near Odessa, Mr. Homberg died Tuesday.

He was a farmer in the Odessa area and retired in 1956. After he retired, he moved into Odessa and drove a school bus for 20 years. He also repaired outboard motors.

He was treasurer and a trustee of the church.

His wife of 62 years, Anna Homberg, died three years earlier on April 30, 1993.

Mr. Homberg is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kissler of Odessa and Judith Schmidt of Spokane; two sisters, Elizabeth Fink and Mary Miller, both of Odessa; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Anna (Currie) Krone Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Anna B. Johnson (Currie) Krone, 97, will be today at 11:30 a.m. at English Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Krone, who was born in the Meadowbrook area near Cougar Gulch, died Sunday.

She attended the Roosevelt School in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1919. She went on to graduate from Lewiston Normal School in 1923 and became a teacher.

She taught school in the Meadowbrook and Kidd Island Bay areas south of Coeur d’Alene, and also in Clarkia, Idaho, for nine years.

She moved to Spokane and later operated the Super Nook Grocery on Broadway Ave. She moved to Heritage Place in Coeur d’Alene in 1980.

She was a member of the Potlatch Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Krone was preceded in death by two husbands, William Currie in 1954 and Bennie Krone in 1988.

Survivors include a brother, George Johnson of Spokane; one stepson, Bennie Krone of Post Falls; one stepgrandson; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Florence Lee Spokane

Memorial graveside service for Florence T. Lee, 93, will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lee, who died April 25, was born in Blair County, Pa.

She moved to Spokane 72 years ago from Devils Lake, N.D.

She was trained as a nurse and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.

Her husband of 36 years, Alvin Lee, died in 1959.

She is survived by two sons, Verlon and Robert Lee, both of Spokane; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Patricia Turnbull Spokane

Memorial service for Patricia May Turnbull, 60, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Turnbull, who died Tuesday, was born in Spokane.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Robert Turnbull, died in 1985.

She is survived by five sons, Robert Turnbull and Michael Shepherd, both of Spokane, Douglas Harris of Rosalia, Wash., and Robert Shepherd and David Turnbull, both of Walla Walla; one daughter, Cheryl Delehanty of Lewiston, Maine; three brothers, Harley Arnold of Walla Walla, Alan Arnold of Seattle and Clyde Arnold of Spokane; one sister, Pearl Lewis of Cusick, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren.

Robert Swann Spokane

Service for Robert J. “Bob” Swann, 50, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Swann, who died Monday, was born in Washington, D.C.

He served in the Air Force from 1963 through 1967.

He married Donna Triplett in Spokane in 1967 and worked for Boeing and Washington Auto Carriage in Seattle, and for 24 years, for Super Value in Spokane.

He was a member of the Machinist Union Local No. 86, and the Catholic church.

Mr. Swann is survived by his wife; three daughters, Kristy Swann at home; and Peggy and Amy Swann, both of Spokane; his mother, Ruth Swann of Piney Point, Md.; five brothers, Ricky, Tommy and Bradley Swann, all of Piney Point, Ray Swann of Valley Lee, Md., and Paul Swann of Sterling, Va.; three sisters, Mary Wallace of Leonardtown, Md., Susan Johnson of Mechanicsville, Md., and Carol Evans of Piney Point.
