Man Stabbed Outside Tavern
A 44-year-old Spokane man was stabbed early Tuesday outside the Brown Derby tavern near Garland and Monroe, police reported.
The man told police he was walking home from the tavern about 1:45 a.m. when three men jumped him, said Dick Cottam, a police spokesman.
One of them stabbed the man with a knife, and they fled.
The victim, whom police refused to identify, received stitches at a local hospital and was released, Cottam reported. Police later stopped three men, one of whom was carrying a knife, near Cedar and Glass, but the victim was unable to identify them as his attackers, Cottam reported.
The man with the knife, Tobias Anderson, 19, who gave his address as 6006 N. Nettleton, was cited for carrying drug paraphernalia and released with the other two.
