Man Faces Charges After Pedestrian Hurt

A Colville man is facing vehicular assault and drunken driving charges after hitting an 18-year-old pedestrian with his car, police said.

Ashley Smith of Colville was reported in serious but stable condition late Tuesday at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

The driver, Jeffrey P. Wendling, 24, was arrested following the accident at 10:46 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of North Main in Colville, police said.
