Lewis-Clark State Routs Whitworth Pirates 19-4

Art Baeza and Troy Silva homered and drove in three runs apiece Tuesday to lead Lewis-Clark State (15-2) to a 19-4 pasting of visiting Whitworth at the Paffile Invitational in Lewiston.

Whitworth (5-3) opened the day with a 12-3 win over Concordia. Details were not available.

L-C State completed the day by beating Concordia 11-6. The three teams play a similar schedule today.

The host Warriors pounded three Whitworth pitchers for nine extra-base hits. Baeza, whose homer was his seventh, also doubled. Jose RijoBerger, who had two doubles, joined Tristan Fike, Trent Kies and Baeza with three runs scored.

Shortstop Eric Brown went 2 for 3 and scored for Whitworth.
