Pearl Jam Concerts Captured On Cd
Pearl Jam’s tour last year may have been short, but because of the band’s broadcast of each show on a low-fi radio transmitter, it’ll certainly be the best documented.
First, there was a three-CD bootleg from Chicago’s Soldier Field. Now three other West Coast broadcasts have turned up on the Blizzard label as beautifully packaged double-CD sets with enough unreleased songs to make up half an album.
“Abandoned” is from the Nov. 2 show at Salt Lake City and has the best sound; Eddie Vedder’s vocals are mixed nicely to the fore, and the song lineup is impeccable, with unreleased songs “Brain of JFK,” “Mosquito,” and “Lukin”’ as well as live takes of “I Got ID” and “Leaving Here.” On the encore, the crowd goes absolutely insane on “Yellow Ledbetter.”
