Shadow Keeper Honored Again

For the second time this season, Spokane Shadow goalkeeper John Nagel has been named to the USISL Premier League team of the week.

Nagle, who was honored for his play during the week of June 11-18, made four saves in as many attempts in Saturday’s shootout win over the Cascade Surge. The victory was Spokane’s sixth in a row.

Golf

After the second round of the Mission Junior Golf Tournament at Rancho Mirage, Calif., Spokane’s Andy Hastings is nine shots off the lead with a two-day score of 149.

Hastings shot 74 on Wednesday.

Spokane’s Britney Holt and Brenda Hall are eight and 10 shots off the lead, respectively, in the Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship at Alton, Ill. Holt shot 77 on the par-72 course; Hall shot 79.

Cycling

Spokane’s Bill Misner, competing in the 55-59 age bracket, finished ninth in a field of 37 competitors in the 40-kilometer time trials at the Fresca National Masters Men’s Cycling Championships.

The event, in Santa Rosa, Calif., continues with a road race Friday and criteria Sunday. Misner finished Wednesday in 1 hour, 34 minutes.
