Mountain Of Activity Schweitzer Can Please Everyone

Graham Vink Travel Editor

Schweitzer Mountain Resort, near Sandpoint, is kicking off its summer season with a wide range of activities.

The resort has a variety of accommodations, including a lodge and condos; a swimming pool and hot tubs; day camp for kids; horseback riding; mountain and road biking; and a golf package offered with nearby Hidden Lakes Golf Course.

Several of the resort’s restaurants are open all summer, and there are a variety of special events, including Elderhostel classes, concerts and festivals. The usual summertime rides on the quad lift will not be available, however, because the chairs are being modified by the manufacturer for safety reasons.

Oh, and because we’ve had such a wet spring, Schweitzer spokesman Bill Mullane says there should be a bumper crop of wildflowers and berries. For more information, call Schweitzer at (208) 263-9555.
