The council will consider two measures required under the growth management act. The first sets an interim urban growth area for the next 20 years to make room for some 23,000 new residents. The second measure is a statement of community values to guide growth decisions.

Commissioners are going to hear a presentation on the New Century Plan, a community-wide effort to guide the growth and development of Spokane in coming years.

Spokane School Board

Wednesday, June 12, noon

Regular meeting, at district headquarters, 200 N. Bernard.

The board will consider a report from the Instructional Equity Citizens Advisory Committee, buying new textbooks in several subject areas, and sixth-grade test scores.

Spokane Plan Commission

1:30 p.m. Wednesday Second floor, City Hall

A proposal to restrict the number of automobiles parked on residential lots will be open for public comment.

Cheney School Board

Wednesday, June 12, 7 p.m.

Regular meeting, at Cheney Middle School, 2716 N. Sixth, Cheney.

The board will consider a physical education curriculum proposal, roof repair bids and student medical coverage.
