‘60 Minutes’ To End Showdowns
Fans of the Molly Ivins/P.J. O’Rourke/Stanley Crouch commentary segment that “60 Minutes” introduced April 28, might want to tune in tonight to watch Ivins and O’Rourke in what could be the last such minidebate of the series (although a spokesman for the CBS show insisted late Thursday there could be one more, on June 16).
They’re due to discuss character in politicians.
The trio, columnists all, was originally signed for a 13-week trial run but this week, after six outings, “60 Minutes” executive producer Don Hewitt confessed that while he “loves ‘em,” viewers so far have resisted big time. “I only wish the audience liked them as much as I do,” Hewitt said.
