Want To Meet The Clintons? Just Ask

Compiled From Wire Services

Like lots of kids, Marshall Bass came to Washington hoping to meet the Clintons. He even got up early to catch the president jogging, but no luck.

Still, the 10-year-old from Santa Barbara, Calif., actually got his wish Friday morning, spending a few minutes with Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Diplomatic Reception Room and later meeting President Clinton himself.

It happened thanks to Marshall’s mom, who boldly asked for the visit during a question-and-answer session after a speech the first lady gave Thursday night.

After the visit, as Hillary Clinton was preparing to leave for a trip, Marshall saw the president come along to say goodbye. He jumped in front of him and jutted out his hand for a presidential shake.

“I thought presidents were sort of weird - like sort of selfish and stuff - but he was really nice,” Marshall said.
