Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Give that favorite candle stub new life!

Put scented stubs in a glass cup or bowl and set it in a sunny window. The warmth will release the fragrance! Colored candles will discolor glass, so use a like-colored container or one you don’t mind being stained.

If you desire, shave the wax into smaller pieces. Turn the wax or stir it occasionally. - Ruth Sheeley, Springfield, Mo.

Dear Heloise: Here’s a good use for a small plastic bag that might otherwise be thrown out. Cut the bottom out of the bag and drop it over an open roll of wrapping paper, to keep the paper from unrolling during storage. If it doesn’t fit securely, no problem. Just lap it over and tape it to fit. - Betty W. Chastain, Greenville, Texas
