Kempthorne Looking For Fund-Raiser Help
Sen. Dirk Kempthorne and his wife Patricia are trying to get other members of Idaho’s congressional delegation and their staffs to join in a fund-raiser against breast cancer.
Patricia Kempthorne, who lost both her parents to various forms of cancer, is recruiting runners for “Team Idaho,” to participate in the “Race for the Cure,” a run/walk to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.
The event is set for June 15 in Washington, D.C.
Sen. Kempthorne, R-Idaho, said breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women between the ages of 35 and 54. Although Idaho is below the national average, about 700 Idaho women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. In 1994, 155 Idaho women died of the disease. , DataTimes
