Bill Targets Suicidal Students
The Idaho House voted unanimously Friday for a bill setting guidelines to help teachers decide when a student might be suicidal.
Pocatello Democrat Millie Flandro, a teacher at Highland High School, said teenagers have such a range of emotions that it’s hard to determine those who are thinking about suicide.
Without guidelines, Flandro said teachers might be liable for not picking up signs from a student.
The House approved the bill 65-0 and sent it to the Senate.
