Sharma Shields/Ferris

Considering one-third of all teenage girls flip through the high school magazine ‘TEEN, the females in our community no doubt read how 15-year-old Brandi Hunt. Hunt, from Orlando, Fla., recently won the 1996 Athlete of the Year award for her excellence in water skiing, leadership skills and above-average grades. She also received a $10,000 college scholarship.

So here’s your chance. ‘TEEN Magazine’s February 1996 issue is kicking off its annual Athlete of the Year scholarship program, available only to 12- to 18-year-old females who show outstanding athletic abilities. Any girl in the United States may apply. Be sure to pick up the 1996 February, March, April or May ‘TEEN Magazine issues to get an application. Maybe your face will appear in this teen-adored publication.
