Jarrett Wins Busch Clash
Dale Jarrett, driving a Ford for a newly formed Robert Yates Racing team, held off a pack of top Chevrolet rivals and won the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway at Daytona Beach, Florida.
Jarrett, driving in his first Clash, took the checkered flag in the special event featuring 1995’s NASCAR Winston Cup pole winners, finishing two car lengths ahead of runner-up Sterling Marlin’s Monte Carlo.
Dale Earnhardt, Terry Labonte and Ken Schrader completed the top five in Chevys in the 20-lap, 50-mile dash.
Jeff Purvis whipped into the lead five laps from the ARCA 200 finish and held on for a Daytona International Speedway victory that he dedicated to a late friend, Neil Bonnett.
