Seles Upset In Pan Pacific

Iva Majoli, an 18-year-old Croatian ranked No. 8 in the world, upset top-ranked Monica Seles 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Pan Pacific Open.

Majoli will face 15-year-old Swiss star Martina Hingis in today’s semifinals. Second-seeded Conchita Martinez of Spain will face third-seeded compatriot Arantxa Sanchez Vicario in the other semifinal.
