Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I have a friend whose husband has an old piece of green luggage that he had in Vietnam. She wanted to throw it away and he didn’t want to part with it. I asked her if he had any pictures or letters that he acquired while he was there. I told her to put all those things he had in the luggage and put it up in the attic. She thought that was a great idea and thanked me over and over again. - A Reader from Alabama

Your good hint will help others who have keepsakes that they want to store. Thanks for writing. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: Most towns have an animal shelter, but are you aware that you can take your newspapers there, as well as old towels, blankets and throw rugs? I also send them all dog- and cat-related coupons, so when people come in to adopt an animal, they can pick up some coupons, too!- Zora Gibson, Washington, Ill.
