At Malibu, Calif., Rick Brainard and Dionn Holton each scored 14 points, to lead the visiting Pilots (13-6, 4-3 West Coast Conference) to a win over the Waves (9-10, 2-5) on Friday.

Lemont Daniels nearly had a triple-double for Portland, scoring 10 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and collecting nine assists.

The Pilots have beaten Pepperdine five straight times.

Bryan Hill and Khary Hervey each scored 19 points to lead Pepperdine. Gerald Brown added 14 for the Waves.

The Pilots held a 35-29 halftime advantage.
