Terry Panagos Chewelah, Wash.
Service for Terry W. Panagos, 67, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah. Burial will be at Valley (Wash.) Cemetery.
Mr. Panagos, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.
He served in the Navy for 10 years and then worked for the Postal Service in Spokane. He retired in 1990.
He was a former Spokane resident and moved to Chewelah in 1994.
Mr. Panagos was a member of the Assembly of God church in Chewelah.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Joy; four daughters, Barbara Williamson of Colville, Robin Panagos and Beatrice Cornwell, both of Mead, and Rebecca Panagos of Spokane; a son, Terrence Panagos of Colbert; a sister, Mary Zografos of Spokane; his stepmother, Helen Panagos of Spokane; a stepsister Dina Baker, and a stepbrother, Pano Salagianis, both of Walla Walla; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Assembly of God Building Fund in Chewelah.
Frank Leininger Spokane
Service for Frank Leininger, 70, will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
Mr. Leininger, who was born in Wendell, Idaho, died Saturday.
He moved to Spokane in 1991 from Emmett, Idaho, and was a body and fender repairman.
Mr. Leininger was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 1991.
Survivors include four sons, Gerald Leininger and Bruce Carver, both of Bremerton, Jack Leininger of Kent, Wash., and Robert Leininger of Spokane; three daughters, Elois Short and Vel Stevens, both of Spokane, and Charlene Madison of Sequim, Wash.; three sisters, Ruth Short of Wendell, Helen Oswald of Nebraska and Delores Brock of White Salmon, Wash.; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wilmer ‘Bill’ Carscallen Potlatch, Idaho
Service for Wilmer A. “Bill” Carscallen, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch.
Born in Marmarth, N.D., Mr. Carscallen died Saturday.
He graduated from Palouse High School, where he played football.
In 1934 he married Louise Katzenberger in Spokane. They moved to the Potlatch area.
He went to work for the Guy Parnell Lumber Mill in 1934, and he and his brothers later purchased the mill. They operated the mill until 1960, and Mr. Carscallen retired.
Mr. Carscallen was an honorary member of the Silver Spurs Remuda Saddle Club and an auxiliary member of the Old-Time Fiddlers.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rod Carscallen of Viola, Idaho; two daughters, Betty Nagle and Janice Palmer, both of Potlatch; a sister, Ruth King of Moscow, Idaho; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund or the Elmore United Methodist Church in Potlatch.
William Manz Spokane
Memorial service for William A. “Bill” Manz, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Valley Good Samaritan Chapel. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Manz, who died Thursday, was born in Reardan, Wash.
He was a school bus driver for the Otis Orchards School District for 25 years and retired in 1969. He was also a dairy farmer.
Mr. Manz was a member of Tri Community Grange.
His wife of 65 years, Helen, died in 1987. Survivors include three sons, Earl Manz of Texas, Kenneth Manz of Wallace and Harley Manz of Spokane; a daughter, Joyce Bergman of Spokane; a sister, Marie Howes of Greenacres; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Harvot Spokane
Burial service for Mary B. (Paladin) Harvot, 83, will be at 9 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery Chapel. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harvot, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.
She graduated from West Valley High School and worked for Postal Telegraph and Land Co. She also worked for the state of Washington as a job-placement counselor.
She volunteered at Whitman Elementary School for 15 years and was a member of St. Paschal’s Catholic Church.
Her first husband, of 30 years, Gordon Van Norman, died in 1970. Her second husband, of nine years, Joseph Harvot, died in 1988.
Mrs. Harvot is survived by a sister, Katherine Bennett of Spokane.

Betty Edmonds Callahan Hayden Lake, Idaho
Funeral Mass for Betty Edmonds Callahan, 77, will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Callahan, who was born in Texas, died Thursday.
She was raised and educated in Los Angeles, where she graduated from high school. She attended Pomona College.
Mrs. Callahan moved to Hayden Lake in 1966 and was a member of the Hayden Lake Country Club, the PEO, and St. Luke’s Altar Guild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Duane Edmonds, in 1990.
Survivors include her husband, John; five sons, Bill Edmonds of California, Duane Edmonds Jr. of Hayden Lake, Jim Edmonds of Kent, Wash., and Stephen and Todd Edmonds, both of Spokane; a sister, Allene Bogutski of Missouri; four stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Roy Heggem Spokane
Service for Peder Royal “Roy” Heggem, 71, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Heggem, who died Saturday, was born in Camp Crook, S.D.
He operated Heggem Electrical in Spokane from 1952 to 1984.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 143 in Post Falls.
Mr. Heggem is survived by his wife of 45 years, Eris; a son, Scott Heggem of Newman Lake; four daughters, Aline Heggem-Snow and Judy Heggem-Davis, both of Spokane, Pam Ross of Kent, Wash., and Terrie Kralik of Sagle, Idaho; two brothers, Joe and Alfred Heggem, both of South Dakota; two sisters, Lilian Lerseth of Spokane and Pauline Bucher of South Dakota; and two grandchildren.
Noreen Martin Spokane
Service for Noreen Joyce Martin, 54, will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mrs. Martin, a 28-year Spokane resident, died Saturday.
She was born in American Falls, Idaho.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Lester Martin, died in 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Trish Martin, Debbie Hixon and Donna Van Allen, all of Spokane; four sons, Ron Van Allen of Kirkland, Wash., and John and Bob Van Allen and Bill Martin, all of Spokane; her mother, Joyce Horton of Spokane; two sisters, Sharon Bunker of Stillwater, Okla., and Sandi English of Missoula; two brothers, Randy Horton of Spokane and Danny Horton; and 15 grandchildren.
Virginia Heath Spokane
Graveside service for Virginia Olson Heath, 85, was Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Memorial service was Sunday.
Mrs. Heath, who was born in Omaha, Neb., died Thursday.
She was an 80-year Spokane resident.
Mrs. Heath had retired from Sears after more than 30 years.
She is survived by a son, Rick Olson of Spokane; a stepson, Loyal Heath of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Marian Carter of Spokane; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Manuel Meineke Spokane
Service for Manuel “Manny” Meineke, 81, was Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial was at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Meineke, who died Dec. 24, was born in Evansville, Ill.
He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps at Sullivan Lake and at Fort Wright Hospital. He retired from Darigold after 34 years.
Mr. Meineke played softball and managed a championship team. He is a member of the Softball Hall of Fame.
He was a bowler and was a league secretary for 42 years. He is also in the Bowling Hall of Fame.
He was a member of Audubon Park United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eloise; a daughter, Marilyn Jones of Spokane; a son, Dan Meineke of Katy, Texas; and three granddaughters.

Robert Goodenow Spokane
No service will be held for Robert Goodenow. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodenow, 80, died Saturday.
He was born in Girard, Pa., and was a 45-year resident of the Spokane area.
Mr. Goodenow came to Spokane from Ohio and worked for the Jacklin Seed Co.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Goodenow was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
His wife of 59 years, Evelyn Goodenow, died in 1990.
Survivors include a sister, Velma Kaehler of Girard.

Elmer ‘Jack’ Kittilstved Spokane
Service for Elmer Andrew “Jack” Kittilstved, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Born in Fergus Falls, Minn., Mr. Kittilstved died Saturday.
In 1931 he married Bernice Hoppe in Moosehead, Minn.
He was a subcontractor in the home building industry and worked for Home Builders Inc. in Spokane until he retired in 1968.
He is survived by his wife; eight sons, Andrew, Floyd, Ray, Frank, Ted, John “Jack,” Duane and Terry Kittilstved, all of Spokane; three daughters, Elaine of Elk, and Lois and Carol, both of Spokane; 35 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Marita White Spokane
Service for Marita E. White, 87, was Monday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Burial was at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. White, who died Thursday, was born in Davenport, Wash.
She was the bookkeeper for C&W Garage, her husband’s business.
She was a longtime Spokane resident and was a member of the Episcopal church.
Her husband, Frank White, died in 1990.
Mrs. White is survived by a son, Jim White, and a daughter, Sue Huss, both of Spokane; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Florence James Spokane
Memorial service for Florence E. James, 92, is planned for 2 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mrs. James, who died Dec. 23, was born in Wilmot, S.D.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 86 years.
Mrs. James is survived by her husband, Burdett James; a son, Richard James of Leavenworth, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Stephany Brown Spokane

Mrs. Brown, who died Dec. 21, was born in Slovakia.
She was a former Chewelah, Wash., resident and had lived in Spokane for eight years.
She is survived by her husband, Carlton Brown; three sons, Ervin Hrozany of Seattle and Jozef and Jerry Hrozany, both of Slovakia; and numerous grandchildren.
Douglas Singer Spokane
Private memorial service will be held for Douglas Wayne Singer. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Singer, who died Friday, was 57.
He was born in Hazen, N.D., and graduated from high school in Rathdrum, Idaho, and from Spokane Community College.
He worked for A.S.C. Co. in Spokane and Northwest Glass in Seattle.
He was a member of the machinists union.
Mr. Singer is survived by three brothers, Darnell Singer of Lynden, Wash., Doyle Singer of Vass, N.D., and Del Roy Singer of Spokane; four sisters, Avon Childs and Eunice Sampson, both of Kildeer, N.D., Nyla O’Malley of Spokane and Ena Hennessey of Vancouver, Wash.
Marie Goos Spokane

Miss Goos, who died Friday, was born in Moscow Mills, Mo.
She had lived in Spokane for 88 years and worked in attorney’s offices for many years.
She was a member of Manito Presbyterian Church.
Miss Goos is survived by several cousins.

Jean Dillon Mortimer Spokane
Service for Jean Dillon Mortimer, 79, was Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial was at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Mortimer, who died Dec. 24, was born in Spokane.
She attended Lewis and Clark High School.
She was a singer and performed on a local radio station, and in Seattle, Los Angeles, London and Paris.
In 1939, she married Lt. Col. Winfield Mortimer in Spokane and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mortimer’s survivors include her husband; a son, John Mortimer of Pasadena, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy Myers of Spokane; and a grandson.
Randy Richardson Spokane
Service for Randy B. Richardson, 46, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ’s Gospel Fellowship. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Richardson, who died last Tuesday, was born in Spokane and attended West Valley High School.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and had operated Richard’s Barber Shop in the Spokane Valley for the past 11-1/2 years.
Mr. Richardson is survived by two daughters, Heather and Amber Richardson, both of Spokane; his mother, Maxine Rummer of Mead; a brother, Thomas Richardson of Greenacres; and two grandchildren.
Hilda Westrom Spokane
Service for Hilda Paulina Westrom, 83, was Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Burial was at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Westrom, who was born in Post Falls, died Dec. 21.
She had lived in Spokane for 80 years and worked at American Laundry.
Her husband, Harry, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Gary Westrom of Salem, Ore.; a brother, Harvey Flansburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Marian Chambers Spokane
Graveside service for Marian P. Chambers, 85, will be in Sterling, Ill. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Chambers died Thursday.
She was born in Sterling, Ill., and had lived in Spokane for 12 years.
She was previously a 41-year resident of Elmhurst, Ill.
Her husband, Bradford Chambers, died in 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Sheppard of Spokane; a son, Robert Chambers of Pampa, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mary Boehm Spokane

Born in British Columbia, Mrs. Boehm died Tuesday.
She graduated from high school in British Columbia and worked on a farm in Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
She was a 30-year Spokane resident and worked at Alsco Linen Supply and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She retired in 1984.
Mrs. Boehm is survived by three daughters, Shirley Haggart of Pasco, Dorothy Maidhoff of Otis Orchards and Kathleen Lamar of Tukwila, Wash.; two sons, Ron Boehm of Palmer, Alaska, and Gerald Boehm of Wasilia, Alaska; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
