UI Students Honored With Mortar Board Membership

The following local University of Idaho students were recently honored with membership into the school’s chapter of Mortar Board, a scholarship and service honorary:

Moscow

Laura Hanson, an accounting major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Hanson; Alexis Howard, a music major and daughter of Betsy Howard; Jennifer McFarland, an English major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald McFarland; Elizabeth Nelson, a chemical engineering major; Heather Scott, a sociology major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Michael Scott; Shelley Thomas, a psychology major; Kama White, a chemistry major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth White.

Chrissy Webb, a psychology and sociology major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Cravens.

David Jacquot, tax counsel at Wetzel and Fasnacht in Coeur d’Alene, recently earned a Master of Laws degree in tax law from the University of Washington School of Law.

Jacquot, who is licensed to practice law in Idaho and Washington, successfully completed a yearlong intensive study of tax law that involved over 500 hours of classroom study and thousands of hours of individual study, including income, gift, estate and international tax laws.

Completion of this post-doctorate program allows Jacquot to handle all tax problems, including estate planning, offshore investments and activities, retirement planning, audits, tax litigation, compensation and business transactions.

Dwight Schmidt, son of LeRoy and Sheila Schmidt of Post Falls, recently received the Robert Campbell Foundation Scholarship and will be attending the University of North Dakota this fall.

The scholarship, in honor of pioneer physician and surgeon Robert Campbell, is awarded by the Campbell Foundation to honor students for past academic performance and future academic success.
