Lynn’s Ace Ices Liberty Lake Golf Championship

A hole-in-one helped Patsy Lynn to the club championship of Liberty Lake Ladies 18-Hole group.

She defeated Jean Hatcher 1-up for the title during 36 holes of match play.

The hole-in-one came with a four wood on the 162-yard seventh hole, helping Lynn to a 7-hole lead after 18.

In first flight, Freda Beckman beat Ellen Boudewyns in a one-hole playoff.

Marie Nelson won second flight ovrer Margie Doyle and Cathy Whitley beat Barb Midkiff in third flight.

During consolation medal play, Sandy Mooney had net 72 in first flight, Alice Hamilton had 70 in second flight, Betty Harmon had 77 in third flight and Kitty DuVal had 79 in fourth flight.

Etter is Hangman Valley champ

This year’s Hangman Valley 18-Hole Women’s Club champion is Billie Etter who defeated Jackie Shea for the title last week.

Consolation winner in the championship round was Beckman with a net 75.

First flight winner Donna Ogilvie over the hard luck Boudewyns. Consolation winner was Margaret Brashears with a net 69.

Delores Bridwell beat Marian Pearson for second flight title and Charlotte Davis had a net 85 for consolation honors.

During medal round play, Pat Lundquist shot 77 net to lead B flight, Sue Henley shot 78 to lead C and Marge Hardin had 68 to lead D.

Bainter wins medal play

Last week’s leader of the Painted Hills Ladies Club was Margaret Bainter with a low gross 46.

She won in A flight, while Nancy Mullenix had a 49 in B Flight, Margie Roark had 54 in C flight and Gail Fox had 60 in D. Susan Crosby shot a no-handicap 56 score.

Net winners were Joan McGee with a 35 in A flight, Tere VonMarbod with 31 in B, Patty Spencer with 33 in C and Pam Poindexter with 35 in D.

Kathy Perry had a a chip-in on the eighth hole and Joyce Thompson a chip-in on four. Sherrell Roshdy birdied the second hole.

Soccer coaches needed

Spokane Valley Junior Soccer Association is in need of coaches for the upcoming season.

Prospective coaches, for the younger age groups in particular, can call the SVJSA office at 922-7910 or Dave Barlos at 922-7080 to volunteer.

County fall volleyball

Spokane County Parks and Recreation is offering a fall adult coed volleyball program beginning Sept. 27 and running for six weeks.

A season-ending tournament will follow.
