Fire Destroys Microbrewery

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Walla Walla microbrewery that planned to open in two weeks was turned into a charred concrete husk by a fire early Sunday.

When firefighters responded to the 1:21 a.m. call, flames were shooting out the windows of the Mill Creek Brew Pub at 11 S. Palouse in downtown Walla Walla.

The fire was brought under control in about two hours, gutting the 5,000-square-foot building.

“It’s a concrete shell with no roof right now,” said Capt. John Martin of the Walla Walla Fire Department.

The cause of the blaze hasn’t been determined, he said.
