Montanan Designs Poster For Nature Conservancy
Phil Korell, Great Falls, Mont., artist and architect, has designed and donated a poster for the Nature Conservancy’s second annual North Idaho Benefit and Auction on Monday at the Hayden Lake Country Club.
“In sketching the image of the poster, I wanted to create a treasure hunt for wildlife, because that’s how I see the conservancy’s work,” Korell said in a press release. “They’re out there hunting for the last best remaining wildlife habitat and working to preserve it for generations to come.”
On top of his architectural practice, Korell pursues Western and wildlife oriented art. He has been featured in a number of exhibitions, including the C.M. Russell Museum Benefit Show.
Korell has donated 50 signed, limited-edition prints for the auction.

Once again, Spokane watercolor artist Edie Dunlap has had a painting accepted into a regional art show. Her piece, “Dancing Shadows,” is appearing in the show, Watermedia 1996, at the Holter Museum of Art in Helena, Mont.
Dunlap, whose works have appeared coast to coast, has also been named a signature member of the Montana Watercolor Society and the Eastern Washington Watercolor Society.
The Montana exhibition, which opened Friday, continues through Sept. 20.
Round ‘em up
Do you have art pieces collecting dust in the garage or a closet?
If they are no longer to be displayed on your walls or atop a coffee table, why not donate them to the Cheney Cowles Museum’s third annual “Wall to Wall Recycled Art Sale,” Sept. 6 through 8.
The museum will accept anything: collectibles, paintings, sculptures, prints, art books and magazines, frames and art supplies.
