Faulty Light Turns Pool Into A Killer
A short-circuited underwater light apparently electrified a backyard swimming pool, shocking three girls and killing the woman who dove in trying to help them, police said.
Kimbra Pannone, 35, of Montgomery, Ala., and her family were in Houston visiting relatives at the time of Thursday night’s accident.
One of her daughters, 8-year-old Holly, and a 14-year-old cousin, Joy Williams, were in critical condition at Texas Children’s Hospital Friday. Pannone’s other daughter, 6-year-old Halley, was in fair condition.
Police believe Pannone was watching the girls swim when they were shocked and dove in to help them. The youngest child was able to get out of the pool and alert her father.
