Cops Northwest Plans Annual Potluck Saturday
COPS Northwest will hold its second-annual community potluck and picnic Saturday at Shadle Park.
The event begins at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Hot dogs and entertainment will be free, but residents are asked to bring a side dish, dessert or other food item.
Two bands - the Groovin’ High Jazz Band and the Evergreen Drifters - will perform. There also will be clowns and face-painting for kids.
City officials, including Mayor Jack Geraghty and Police Chief Terry Mangan, are expected to attend.
Last year’s picnic drew nearly 900 people. Organizers expect double that this year, said Ethel Allen, who is helping to coordinate the event.
“It’s going to be a big shindig that doesn’t cost you anything but a dish,” Allen said.
