Stabbing Suspect Will Be Evaluated
A Missouri truck driver accused of stabbing the Kittitas County sheriff was sent Monday to Eastern State Hospital for a mental evaluation.
Alan Keith Miller, 23, of East Prairie, Mo., was charged last Wednesday with attempted first-degree murder, auto theft and attempting to elude police. Bond was set at $500,000.
Miller is accused of stabbing Sheriff Bob McBride during a struggle. McBride had been tailing Miller in an unmarked patrol car because the truck driver reportedly was threatening other motorists on a citizen’s band radio and driving erratically.
Miller told police he did not know McBride was a police officer.
