O’Meara, Waldorf Tied

Mark O’Meara took advantage of a break in the weather and tied a course record with a 62, but Duffy Waldorf shot a 67 and tied for the third-round lead at 11-under 205 in the third round of the Greater Greensboro (N.C.) Golf Classic.

Former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett shot a 71 for a 4-under 214 total.

Caroline Pierce held a onestroke lead after two rounds of the Sara Lee Classic at Nashville, Tenn., shooting a 69 for a 140 total.

Robin Walton of Clarkston, Wash., second Friday, fell off the pace with a 74 and was at 143. Tracy Hanson of Rathdrum, Idaho, made the cut with a 74 for a 146.

Bob Charles and Tommy Aaron tied for the second-round lead in the Las Vegas Senior Classic by shooting 70s for 36-hole totals of 9-under 135 in windy conditions on the Tournament Players Club course at Summerlin.
