Crystal Lee’s two-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Amanda DelMese on Friday as Central Valley edged visiting University 3-2 in Greater Spokane League softball.
The loss dropped U-Hi (7-2) out of a first-place tie with Mead (8-1) and created a three-way tie for third among CV, North Central and Gonzaga Prep, all 6-3.
G-Prep beat NC 12-9, Mead edged Lewis and Clark 4-2 and Rogers beat Shadle Park 8-2.
U-Hi forced extra innings on Sally Jamison’s two-out RBI single in the sixth. DelMese reached base in the 10th with a double.
Jennifer Williams had a two-run triple in the fourth and Brooke Egger added a two-run double in the fifth to lead visiting G-Prep. NC’s Denise Devereaux cracked a two-run homer in the sixth.
At LC’s Hart Field, Holly Vanwert had two hits, including a double, and relieved winner Shata Stuckey (3-0) as Mead beat the Tigers (1-8).
At Rogers, Teana Scott and Angel Fairbanks smacked three-run homers to lead the Pirates (3-6) over the visiting Highlanders (1-8). Shadle’s Tara Buckley had a solo homer in the third.

Ferris (6-2) took the day off yet jumped into first place, by percentages, when U-Hi (7-3) and G-Prep (6-3) were upset.
At CV, Brady Nelson hit a grand slam, and Nate Lynch added a solo homer and an RBI single to lead the Bears (5-4) over U-Hi 8-6.
At Seafirst Stadium, Tyson Davis (1-0) struck out five and threw a four-hitter as NC (2-7) stopped G-Prep 3-0. Justin Williams hit a two-run homer in the fifth. Zach Yarbrough took the loss, allowing three hits and striking out nine.
Elsewhere, Mead and Shadle won to tie Prep for third place, one-half game out of first.
At Hart Field, Rob Elmer (2-0) struck out six, walked none and pitched a complete game as Mead beat LC 7-2. Corey Oden doubled and tripled for the Panthers. Aaron McNutt had three hits and two RBIs for the Tigers (1-9).
At Rogers (2-7), Joe Baune was 3 for 4 with two RBIs to help Shadle to a 12-3 win. Josh Gilbert was 3 for 5 and Garrett Wideman added two doubles and three RBIs for the Highlanders.
