Jazz Guitarist Promises To Power Up The Met
The Michael Powers Group, led by Seattle jazz guitarist Michael Powers, will perform mainstream, contemporary and fusion jazz next Thursday, April 11, at 8 p.m. at The Met.
The blues, one of Powers’ main inspirations, also will be in evidence.
Powers is a graduate of Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts, and he has made three albums: “Perpetual Motion,” “First Time Out” and “Frosty the Blues Man.”
Members of the YellowJackets, Rippingtons, Crusaders and Fattburger have made guest appearances on his albums.
He will be accompanied by Jack Toker on drums and Clipper Anderson on bass.
The show is promoted by Somali Music, which has committed a portion of the proceeds to KEWU-FM, the jazz radio station housed within the radio-television department at Eastern Washington University.
Tickets are $15, available through all G&B Select-a-Seat outlets, or by calling 325-SEAT or 1-800-325-SEAT.
