Walter Stoerck Coeur d’Alene

Service for Walter F. Stoerck, 86, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg. Burial will follow at West Shoshone Memorial Gardens. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stoerck, who was born in Gifford, Idaho, died Sunday.

He moved to Wardner, Idaho, in 1912 and later worked as an accountant for the Bunker Hill Co., for nearly 40 years. He retired in 1975 and moved to Coeur d’Alene.

He was a member of the Kellogg Elks Lodge and a charter member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Agnes “Mickey” Stoerck; and two sisters, Erna Lyons of Kingston, Idaho, and Edna Harris of Kellogg.

Donald McLeod Sagle, Idaho

Prayer vigil service for Donald J. McLeod, 54, will be today at 7 p.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church in Shelby, Mont. Memorial service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. McLeod, who was born in Shelby, died Friday.

He moved to Sagle in 1993 from Texas and worked as a mechanic.

Survivors include three sons, Troy McLeod of Idaho Falls, and Buddy Johnson and Billy McLeod, both of Chicago; one daughter, Kari Vermeline of Idaho Falls; and one sister, Jean Duve of Montana.

Kenneth Wyene Spokane

Memorial service for Kenneth “Kenny” Wyene, 26, is set for 7 p.m. today at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wyene, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.

He had lived in Spokane all his life except for three years spent in Seattle.

He was a member of the Directors Guild of America and worked in television and film production. He worked for Pinacle Productions and Aeropegasus Productions on “Always,” “Diehard 2,” “Northern Exposure,” “Toys,” “Medicine Ball,” “Disclosure” and “The Road.”

He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his mother, Harriette Wyene of Spokane; three sisters, Caroline Allen of Butte, Mont., Annette Wyene of Spokane and Susie Pace of Yakima; and his grandfather, Allen Cox of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane AIDS Network or the Eastern Washington Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Paul Henry Springdale, Wash.

Service for Paul Alfred Henry, 105, will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Deer Park. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henry, who was born in St. Jo, Texas, died Thursday.

He served in World War I and World War II and worked throughout the United States as a plumber and steamfitter.

In 1926 he married Pearl Galusha. He had lived in Springdale since 1985.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, International Order of Odd Fellows, the Masons and Woodworkers of America.

Mr. Henry is survived by his wife; three daughters, Margaret Roggow and Janie Helberg, both of Tonasket, Wash., and Cynthia Johnson of Springdale; five sons, John Henry of Enid, Okla., Joseph Henry of Newport, Wash., Frederick Henry of Worley, Idaho, Eugene Henry of Clinton, Tenn., and Isaac Henry of Coeur d’Alene; 34 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

James Routt Spokane

Memorial Mass for James E. Routt, 75, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary Catholic Church. Private family inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Routt, who died Monday, was born in Chicago. He had lived in Spokane for 41 years and was a director of medical sales.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was a master gardener.

Mr. Routt is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bess Routt; six sons, James Routt of Albuquerque, N.M., Thomas and D.A. Routt, both of Spokane, Michael Routt of Westminster, Md., Steven Routt of Arlington, Wash., and John Routt of England; one daughter, Mary Beth Jordan of Spokane; and 20 grandchildren.

Blanche LaSarte Tekoa, Wash.

Funeral Mass for Mary Madelaine Alexis “Blanche” LaSarte, 81, will be at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DeSmet, Idaho. Burial will follow at the DeSmet Mission Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. LaSarte, who died Saturday, was born at Rose Creek, near Plummer, Idaho.

She married Alvin LaSarte in Colfax, Wash., in 1939, and they lived in Plummer. Mr. LaSarte died in 1979, and Mrs. LaSarte moved to DeSmet. She had lived in the Tekoa Care Center since 1989.

She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe of Indians and served on the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council for 10 years. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, LaVern LaSarte of Tensed, Idaho; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Anne (Smead) Hartman Spokane

Funeral Mass for Anne C. (Smead) Hartman, 62, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hartman, who died Sunday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and the church choir.

Mrs. Hartman is survived by her husband, Thomas Hartman; two sons, Brian and Jim Smead, both of Spokane; five daughters, Susan Gyllstron, Sally Hammond and Sandra and Maggie Smead, all of Spokane, and Mollie Hoyle of Seattle; five sisters, Joan Pribnow, Roberta Boyd, Nancy Schulz and Monica Brower, all of Spokane, and Susan Boas of Seattle; and 12 grandchildren.

James Grimshaw Spokane

Memorial service for James E. Grimshaw, 58, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mr. Grimshaw, who was born in Victoria, British Columbia, died Sunday.

He had lived in Spokane for 16 years and retired from the Air Force in 1988.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

Mr. Grimshaw is survived by his wife, Arnella Grimshaw; two sons, James Grimshaw of Spokane and Gene Grimshaw of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Ruth Lind Spokane

Visitation for Ruth E. Lind, 82, is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Lind, who was born in Missoula, died Sunday.

She graduated from Hillyard High School and operated a beauty shop in Spokane. She was a 71-year Spokane resident.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway and Vasa Lodge.

Her husband, Harold Lind, died in 1967.

Mrs. Lind is survived by two brothers, Elmer Johnson of Spokane and Donald Johnson of Seattle.

Ola (Robirts) Devoe Spokane

Funeral Mass for Ola C. (Robirts) Devoe, 87, is set for 10 a.m. today at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Wilson, Kan., Mrs. Devoe died Sunday.

She moved to St. Maries as a child and came to Spokane in 1954.

She worked for The Coeur d’Alene Hotel in Spokane as a cook for more than 20 years and then worked as a part-time cook for St. John Vianney Rectory. She retired in the 1970s.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Robirts in 1936, and Roy Devoe in 1967.

She is survived by three sons, Woodrow Robirts of Price, Utah, Dale Robirts of Sequim, Wash., and John Robirts of Buhl, Idaho; one sister, Mary Hobbs of Spokane; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

John Doree Spokane

Funeral Mass for John Jacob Doree, 48, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Doree died Sunday.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep and worked as a conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and the United Transportation Union.

He was a volunteer with All Saints School and Gonzaga Prep.

Mr. Doree is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Doree; two sons, Gavin and Ryan Doree, both of Spokane; his mother, Catherine Doree of Spokane; and one brother, William Doree of Spokane.

Ross McDougall Newport, Wash.

Memorial potluck will be held for Ross M. McDougall, 90, at 2 p.m. Friday at Calispell Grange. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McDougall, who died Saturday, was born in Spokane.

He and his wife, Leora, moved to Cusick, Wash., in 1946. He was a farmer for nearly 40 years.

He played the saxophone and trumpet at dances and at Pend Oreille Pines Nursing Home, until 1989, when his wife died.

In 1985 he moved to Newport.

He was a 70-year Grange member and a charter member of Calispell Grange.

Mr. McDougall is survived by one son, Alec McDougall of Mount Vernon, Wash.; three daughters, Heather Fischer of Spokane; Lynn Parnell of Colbert and Sheila Wilson of Pasco; and 13 grandchildren.

Floyd Stowe Kalispell, Mont.

Memorial service for Floyd Albert Stowe, 64, was held Saturday in Kalispell. Johnson Mortuary Chapel in Kalispell was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stowe, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died March 26.

He was a former Spokane and Idaho resident and was a member of the Idaho National Guard.

He had worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Winona, of Kalispell; one son, Floyd Stowe Jr. of Texas; daughter, Vickey Schrock of Coeur d’Alene; one sister, Ann Jordan; three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Wellington Bingham Spokane

Private service for Wellington Straight “Welly” “Bing” Bingham, 78, will be at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bingham, who died Sunday, was born in Ithaca, N.Y.

In 1930 he moved to Seattle with his family and graduated from high school there. He also graduated from the University of Washington, where he was a second generation member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

He was crowned Ski King at the University of Washington and met his future wife, Patty, who was crowned Ski Queen the same year. She died in 1992. They were married 52 years.

He moved to Spokane 51 years ago and was a partner and sometime managing partner in the national food brokerage firm, Kelley-Clarke Co.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Bingham was a member of The Spokane Club, UW Tyee Club, Hayden Lake (Idaho) Golf and Country Club, and The Empire Club.

Survivors include two sons, David Bingham of Bellevue, Wash., and Dick Bingham of Spokane; and three grandsons.

Judy Van Gundy Spokane

Memorial services for Judith Ann Van Gundy, 63, is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Crestline Church of the Nazarene. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Valentine, Neb., Mrs. Van Gundy died Friday.

She ran Judy Van Gundy’s Day Care Center for 12 years and previously had worked as a preschool teacher. She was a 40-year Spokane resident.

Mrs. Van Gundy was a member of Crestline Church of the Nazarene, Preschool Teachers Association, Washington State Day Care Association and the China Painting Group.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Duane Van Gundy; one son, James Van Gundy, and one daughter, Diana Bailey, both of Spokane; one brother, Don Wilkenson of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

Re’nee Lynnette Wilmey Spokane

Memorial service for Re’nee Lynnette Wilmey, 32, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2405 E. 57th. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilmey, who died Saturday of Hodgkin’s disease, was born in Spokane.

She graduated from Riverside High School and Spokane Community College.

She was a courtroom deputy and advisory case administrator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court until 1992, when her illness forced to leave.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Wilmey; one stepson, Ja’min Wilmey of San Diego; her parents, George and Irene Miller of Chattaroy, Wash.; two sisters, Roxanee Cotting of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Tamara Miller of Seattle; and two brothers, Benjamin Miller of Chattaroy and Kenneth Miller of Spokane.
