Rodriguez Settles Suit

Golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez has settled his lawsuit over the use of his name by a drag queen in the movie, “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.”

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Both sides declined comment.

Rodriguez filed suit against the movie’s producers two weeks ago, charging the use of his name by actor John Leguizamo - who portrays a drag queen in the film - had damaged his reputation.

The 59-year-old golfer had sought an injunction against Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment to block the use of his name in the film.

The producers of the movie had argued it would be impossible to pull or change the film, which cost $63 million to make.

The comedy tells the story of three tranvestites traveling across the country to Hollywood who find themselves stranded in a small Nebraska town.
