Tips For Packing Good Sandwiches

The Associated Press

Some tips for packing sandwiches, from “The Ultimate Lunch Box Book” by Honey and Larry Zisman (St. Martin’s Griffin):

To keep bread fresh until lunchtime, coat both slices of bread with some type of spread.

To prevent bread from becoming soggy, make sure that lettuce and vegetables are thoroughly dry before putting them into the sandwich.

Use different kinds of cookie cutters to cut the bread slices.

If you’re making lunch for two or more people make two types of sandwiches and put half of each one in each lunch box.
