Abc Wins Series’ Game 7

Compiled From Wire Services

ABC Sports won a coin toss for Game 7 of the World Series, if it should go that far.

The Baseball Network, a TV partnership among baseball, ABC and NBC, made the announcement. Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for Sunday night, Oct. 29.

Since this will be the final year of The Baseball Network, ABC and NBC already had decided to televise the first six games on an alternating basis. ABC will do Game 1 on Saturday, Oct. 21, beginning at the National League city.

NCAA women’s basketball will receive record national television exposure in the coming regular season, primarily through the PRIME, ESPN and ESPN2 cable networks.

PRIME announced a national package of Sunday games at 7 p.m., including Purdue at Penn State on Feb. 4. The 13-game package will begin with the preseason NIT semifinals on Nov. 19 and final on No. 21.

ESPN and ESPN2 will announce a combined package of 64 games today, including Friday night telecasts on ESPN2. The all-sports network will also air games featuring the U.S. Women’s National team, which will become the Olympic team next summer.
