Alex Tyllia Northport, Wash.
Rosary for Alexander J. Tyllia, 86, will be at 6 p.m. today at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Ritzville. Burial Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Northport. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.
Mr. Tyllia died Sunday.
He was born in Chicago and came to Onion Creek, Wash., with his parents in 1915. They moved to Northport in 1923. He attended Cheney Normal School and became an industrial arts teacher.
He and his wife, Lenora, lived in Kellogg, and Mr. Tyllia worked at Sunshine Mine.
In 1940 they returned to Northport, and he worked for his father-in-law, Peter Janni, at his mine. Mr. Tyllia managed mining operations until he retired in 1972.
He had served on the Northport School Board and was a member of Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lenora; one son, Frank Tyllia of Kirkland, Wash.; and one sister, Wanda Jones of Rossland, British Columbia.

Pierce Dunne Spokane
Funeral Mass for Pierce J. Dunne, 93, will be at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Burke, Idaho, Mr. Dunne died Friday.
He had lived in Spokane for 70 years.
He had worked as a miner in Idaho and, beginning in 1934, for various freight companies and heavy haulers. He retired from B-Line Transport Inc. in 1976.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Teamsters Union, Inland Empire Teamsters Retirees Association, Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral.
His wife, Julia Dunne, died in 1982.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Dunne, at home, and Velda May Lorch of Roswell, N.M.; one son, Joe Dunne of Everett; 20 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop White Seminary or the Sisters of Providence Retirement Fund.
John Porter Ione, Wash.
Graveside service for John C. Porter, 68, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Riverside Cemetery in Ione, Wash. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home of Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Porter, who died Saturday, was born in Kalispell, Mont.
He served in the Army during World War II and worked for 25 years as a logging contractor. During the winter months he worked in area mines.
He and his wife had owned Edna and John’s Restaurant in Ione, and the Chieftain Tavern.
Mr. Porter was a Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Edna; five sons, Mike and Tim, both of Ione, Pat of Tacoma, Dic of Metaline, Wash., and Don of Leavenworth, Wash.; one daughter, Kim of Ione; five brothers, Bill, Bob and Pat, all of Spokane, Ted of Elk and Bud of Ione; and four sisters, Beulah and Marge, both of Spokane, Faye of Vancouver, Wash., and Jean of Marmoth, N.D.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ione Rescue Unit.
Roy Haskins Spokane
Service for Roy Haskins, 79, was Tuesday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Burial was at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Born in Hubbard, Texas, Mr. Haskins, died Friday.
Mr. Haskins moved to Spokane in 1947 and founded the Haskins Co. in 1948 and Haskins Steel Co. Inc., a steel distributor, in 1955. He was active in the business until recent months.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Haskins; one son, Sterling Haskins of Spokane; one brother, Loyd Haskins of Bellingham; one sister, Pauline Moore of Spokane; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dee Weathermon Spokane
Service for Dee I. Weathermon, 83, is set for 2 p.m. today at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Weathermon, who died Saturday, was born in Baker, Ore.
He moved to Spokane in the 1930s and worked at Galena Army Air Depot.
He later worked for Nixon’s Electric and, for 30 years, for Tingling and Powell Electric. He retired in 1977.
Mr. Weathermon was a Golden Eagle at the Spokane Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ethel Weathermon; two daughters, Carol Jensen of Spokane and Denise Turner of Airway Heights; one son, Stephen Weathermon of Spokane; three sisters, Maureen Angus, Frances Sharp and Marjoria Poole; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ella Cantrell Sandpoint
Rosary for Ella F. Cantrell, 86, will be recited today at 7 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.
Mrs. Cantrell, who was born in the Kootenai River Valley, died Saturday in Sandpoint.
She was a lifelong resident of North Idaho and attended business college in Spokane. She moved to Sandpoint in 1930.
She married Harmon Cantrell in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1946.
Mrs. Cantrell worked for the Forest Service as a resource clerk before retiring in 1970.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and served on the parish council. She loved teaching, playing bridge, growing roses, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one son, Harmon Cantrell Jr. of Newport, Wash.; two daughters, Suzan Syrett of Menlo Park, Calif., and Kathy Cantrell of Sandpoint; one brother, Bill Krause of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; one sister, Dee Scalise of Portland; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to the Panhandle Animal Shelter in Sandpoint.
Gordon Osterberg Pine Creek, Idaho
Service for Gordon M. Osterberg, 75, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kellogg Funeral Chapel in Kellogg. Burial will be at Bisaro Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Osterberg, who was a 30-year Pine Creek resident, died Sunday at home.
He was born in Idaho and moved to Pine Creek in 1964 from DeSmet, Idaho. He served in the Army during World War II as a foot soldier and artillery man in the European Campaign.
He married Betty Loveless in Coeur d’Alene in 1955.
Mr. Osterberg worked in various sawmills before working at the Sunshine Mine for 17 years as a motorman. He was a survivor of the 1972 Sunshine Mine fire.
He retired in 1983.
Mr. Osterberg was a member of the Kingston Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Pinehurst (Idaho) Senior Citizens.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, woodcutting and camping.
Survivors include his wife, at home; three sons, Louis of Troy, Mont., John of Henderson, Nev., and Leon of Pinehurst; one daughter, Nancy Pearson of Spokane; two brothers, Ed of Troy and Norman of Nevada; four sisters, Evelyn Kolar of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Lenora Dickerson of Pasco, and Lavond Foote and Martha Judson, both of Sanders, Idaho; and nine grandchildren.
Leona Sullivan Spokane
Service for Leona Fay Sullivan, 77, is set for 11 a.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sullivan died Friday.
She was born in Flasher, N.D, and had lived in Spokane for more than 50 years.
She had worked as a clerk at The Crescent and retired in 1979.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of the Five Mile Grange, Beta Sigma Phi and Laureate XI.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Sullivan; two sons, James Sullivan of Springdale, Wash., and Brian Sullivan of Spokane; two sisters, Reta Goulette of Spokane and Frona Fredine of Wisconsin; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Donald Custer Spokane
Graveside service for Donald J. Custer, 81, was Tuesday at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Custer, who was born in Harrison, Idaho, died Thursday.
He had lived in Spokane for more than 60 years and was a plumbing contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Olga Custer; two daughters, Marie Gentry of Longview, Wash., and Jean Custer of Mead; one brother, Charles Custer of Spokane; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Florienne Foote Post Falls
Service for Florienne A. “Flo” Foote, 71, was Tuesday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Foote, who was born in Phillipsburg, Kans., died Friday at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene.
She was educated in Yakima, where she moved with her family when she was 10.
She married Edward Foote in Coeur d’Alene in 1940, and they made their home there. She was a cook at various restaurants, including the Cove Bowl, until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and a brother and sister.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Foote Jr. of Post Falls and Randy Foote of Rathdrum, Idaho; five daughters, Evelyn Clausen of Fairfield, Juanita Mason of Rathdrum, Janet Iverson of Post Falls, Elaine Stowe of Athol, Idaho, and Lori Fisher of Torrance, Calif.; one brother, Gene Hauver of Grandview, Wash.; one sister, Opal Wilson of Yakima; 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

John Gheri Spokane
Service for John A. Gheri, 81, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Gheri, a longtime Spokane resident, died Thursday.
He was born in Pittsburgh.
He served in the Air Force for 24 years and retired as a chief master sergeant. He served in both World War II and the Korean War.
After he retired from the military, he worked for the city of Spokane Water Department for 18 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen Gheri; one daughter, Cathy; one brother, Joseph Gheri of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Marion Richards of San Antonio, Texas, and Lena Carlini of Grants Pass, Ore.; and one granddaughter.
