The errors matched the Dodgers’ highest total since moving to Los Angeles in 1958 and increased their major league-leading total to 116 in 118 games.

Clearing the bases

Davey Johnson was rushed to a hospital after having an allergic reaction to medication. He was treated and released in time to manage the Cincinnati Reds’ night game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds also sent three players to the same hospital Friday for tests and treatment. An MRI found that reliever Johnny Ruffin has torn cartilage in his knee. Tests found no serious injuries to outfielders Ron Gant (sore rib cage) and Thomas Howard (sore knee)… . Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox signed autographs in a Cobb County courtroom moments before a judge dismissed wife battery charges against him. Cox and his wife, Pamela, were ordered into counseling after police were called to the couple’s home northwest of Atlanta in May.
