Ifeanyi Ruling Delayed

Compiled From Wire Services

USC defensive end Israel Ifeanyi’s attempt to acquire a temporary restraining order that would allow him to play Saturday at Notre Dame was delayed in Los Angeles Superior Court. Mark Wooster, Ifeanyi’s attorney, said that Judge Robert H. O’Brien “was reluctant to rule on the merits” until today. Originally, Ifeanyi was held out of three games for allegedly accepting a pager and phone card from Oxnard-based sports agent Robert Caron. During that NCAA investigation, it was discovered that Ifeanyi received approximately $3,000 from his tribe in Nigeria.
