Post Falls Takes To Air, Ties Sandpoint For Iel Lead

Travis O’Briant threw three touchdown passes to just-returned Brett Hollenbeck Friday as Post Falls (2-0, 6-1) beat visiting Lake City 33-14 to tie Sandpoint for the Inland Empire League lead.

Hollenbeck, who missed the previous two games with a knee injury, had 68 receiving yards. Dave Nelson of the Timberwolves (0-3, 0-7) threw for two TDs to Brian Ross, both on screen passes.

Also in the IEL, Jeremy Frei passed for two TDs and rushed for another as Lewiston (2-1, 6-1) remained in third place with a 35-8 win over visiting Coeur d’Alene (0-2, 1-6).

Jim Farris had TD receptions of 15 and 30 yards for the Bengals. Ben Davis of the Vikings had a 22-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.

At Sandpoint, Jeremy Thielbahr rushed for two touchdowns and 170 yards, and caught another TD pass as the Bulldogs (6-1) held off visiting Riverside 42-36 in a non-league game.

Brett Taylor completed 8 of 14 passes for Sandpoint. Jared Hansen rushed for 242 yards for the Rams (3-3), who scored 26 fourth-quarter points.

In an Intermountain League showdown, Jason Hall rushed for 174 yards and five TDs in one half as St. Maries (3-0, 7-0) stomped visiting Lakeland 48-13. The Lumberjacks had 421 yards of offense and held the Hawks (3-1, 4-3) to 66 yards rushing.
