Chase Gallery Features Works Of Three Quilters

The Chase Gallery, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd, is showing the works of three contemporary quilters, Quinn Zander Corum, Sally A. Sellers and Melissa Holzinger.

The quilts feature traditional and non-traditional quilting techniques.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and during City Council meetings.

Native American calendars

The Museum of North Idaho is selling 1996 calendars, featuring historic photos taken between 1910 and 1940 of Coeur d’Alene and Nez Perce Native Americans.

Sale proceeds will benefit the museum. The $6 calendars are available at the museum, the Bookseller, Wilson’s, Book and Game and other Coeur d’Alene outlets.

Ballet master class

St. Petersburg Ballet dancer Galina Mezentseva will teach a master class for intermediate and advanced ballet students at 4 p.m., Oct. 17, at the Academy of Dance, 14214 E. Sprague.

Auditions

The Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene will conduct auditions for a musical version of “Heidi” on Friday at the St. Pius Roman Catholic Church. The show will be staged in January.

Both children (9 to 18 years old) and adults are needed to fill roles. Children will audition between 6 and 7:30 p.m.; adults between 8 and 9:30 p.m.

Auditioners must prepare a musical selection from the show, which is available at the playhouse’s box office, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

“Heidi” was written by local playwright Randall Adams and composer Gerard Mathes. Carmen Jackson is director.

Spokane Civic Theatre will hold auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 7 p.m., Monday and Tuesday. Call backs will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday.

Director John G. Phillips needs six women and four men, 30-plus years old; and nine girls and eight boys between 6 and 18.

Auditioners are asked to read the script and prepare a one-minute Christmas song. Scripts are available at the box office. For more information, call 325-2507.
