United Way Jury Still Mulling 3 Ex-Officials’ Fate
The jury in the fraud trial of three former United Way of America officials completed a third day of deliberations Tuesday without a verdict.
The United Way of America’s one-time president, William Aramony, and two former top aides are accusing of bleeding the charity and a spinoff company of about $600,000.
The 47-count fraud, conspiracy and money-laundering case includes racy allegations that Aramony, 67, used illicit money to pay for exotic vacations and to pay bogus consulting fees to a teenage lover.
