Olajuwon Battles Fatigue
Houston Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon skipped a team practice to see a doctor after complaining of fatigue following Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Olajuwon was examined by team doctor Jim Muntz but no report was available.
“Let’s not jump the gun on this, please,” coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. “He was feeling tired and he just went to get it checked out. Hopefully, it will be something minor.”
Olajuwon said he was concerned about his conditioning.
“The last five games, I’ve been tired after 2 minutes,” he said. “How can you be tired that quick?”
The Philadelphia 76ers have signed former Seattle SuperSonics guard Alphonso Ford to a 10-day contract.
Ford averaged 22.8 points per game with the Tri-City Chinook and was CBA Rookie of the Year during 1993-94. He also played six games with Seattle that season, averaging 2.7 points per game.
The Golden State Warriors have signed guard Tim Legler for the remainder of the season.
